Re: LG 42PJ150. Clicking Clicking Clicking

Ok, this indicates a problem with the power board.

On the regulator you suspect to be bad, try checking Vcc voltage of it. To find out which pins/components to measure across locate the datasheet of the IC. Your ground reference will be on the negative of the large 450V capacitors or other primary-side ground (note the mains ground is not a primary side ground.)

Here is the picture with the wires.
Gnd/gnd the voltages keep changing fast from 1.7 to 2.1

Also, have you checked ALL primary-side fuses?

          All big fuses are ok.
I dont know to test a 6 legged regulator.

The big pin with eys1 measures 190v
The other pin at the end measures 1.6 and when it clicks it says 0 and then 4.5 dropping to 1.6

The 4th pin in the middle is 0.4v
The pin next.to it measures 0.03v.
Other pins i cant reach..probes to big

I gave you instructions, it's pretty simple, you want to learn?

On the regulator you suspect to be bad, try checking Vcc voltage of it. To find out which pins/components to measure across locate the datasheet of the IC. Your ground reference will be on the negative of the large 450V capacitors or other primary-side ground (note the mains ground is not a primary side ground.)

To clarify you'll be looking a pin marked Vcc or Vs and also checking the datasheet for the range of acceptable voltages (UVLO voltage / start voltage / stop voltage)

The cable on the PS righthand side is going to the maonboard and has 4v and 5v. ( 2 pins next to eachother)
I think 5V is stby out from psu and 4V is power on from main.
Maybe connect an external dc so this 4V reach 5V and see whats
                happen.

                    Thx for the replies.

Tom , I'm having trouble finding the voltages as they should be. I downloaded the schematic but it does not mention the out coming voltages on that regulator. It only mentioned the 1.8v which i measure. ( schematic is only 5 mb orso )
Maybe i'll just order the repair kit? It has the regulator/diode/resistors because i just found a short diode next to the regulator. Its open on both sides.

I measured the fuses for continuity and ohms in the primary section and they are all ok. Rest of the diodes are also fine.

You need to be looking at the part on the POWER BOARD, find the datasheet (not schematic) for the part you suspect to be bad to learn how to check it.
To find the datasheet you'd search for a sequence of numbers and letters on it e.g. 3BJR089K.

I know , but i can't find the data sheet so i looked for the schematic.
I measured like you said and i get the following :

                        385V ( Keeps changing because its clicking , starts around 390 ).
                        2.9V ( Starts with 3.2v )
                        0.9V

                                        Hi Tom ,

That datasheet you provided is the basics of the regulator/controller. It does not say the voltages i must measure with this particular tv/powersupply.
Any tips to guide me in the right direction ?

                                        thx for your time
