Interesting, so that means SOS10 at factory, then SOS1,SOS1,SOS1,SOS1.

SOS10 might be expected for a test, SOS1 is a bad main board.

Don't think it caused your problem though.

Guess I can’t complain about the TV it's seven years old and I haven't had any problems with it until now, I read this model had a problem with the main board and plenty of reports the TV not powering up with the dreaded red flashing led power switch. How long after you take the power away from the TV does it take for the capacitors to discharge so it’s safe to work on?

Primary capacitors should discharge in a couple of minutes at most due to bleeder resistors. If in doubt, measure the voltage across the capacitor(s) and time how long it takes to drop.

Secondary capacitors may stay charged for longer but shouldn't pose a hazard except to other circuitry if you accidentally created a short somewhere with screwdriver etc, unlikely to happen though.

There are a few capacitors that can be quite dangerous on the power supply, even after shutting down, so I'd avoid touching that for at least 1hr after unplugging.

More important just to avoid personal electrocution... the TV will be fine! As long as you are careful, it will be OK.

                Hi Bazz

Long time ago but did you resolve your picture issue?
I have the same and just before I scrap it I thought I would see if there might be a fix!

                Thanks
