Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Guess I can’t complain about the TV it's seven years old and I haven't had any problems with it until now, I read this model had a problem with the main board and plenty of reports the TV not powering up with the dreaded red flashing led power switch. How long after you take the power away from the TV does it take for the capacitors to discharge so it’s safe to work on?Last edited by Baz273; 09-05-2014, 06:11 PM.

Yeh thanks to Foxtel they have logos on every program. What do those pic numbers indicate? last time I checked they were PICT:00.00.00.00.00 I thought I read that these are fault codes but could be wrongLast edited by Baz273; 09-05-2014, 01:35 AM.

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Tom, Haven't taken the back off as yet. I have ordered a digital multi meter as I only had a analog one I was going to check the Ve, -Vad or Vsus voltage as you advised.
The service manual says to (1) first perform Vsus adjustment (2) confirmation of Vscn voltage should be performed after confirmation of the Vad adjustment the when The Vad=140v, voltage of the Vscn is 8v +/- 1v. I guess when I have the back off the voltages will be on the panel label info?

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Just realised when rechecking the test pattens while scrolling through them the light on the power button is green until I get to the white screen where you can see the yellow/blue shadowing the light turns red blinking once every 2-3 seconds then after about 4 minuets the TV turns off and I have to unplug it from the wall socket to restart the TV. Not sure if this indicates a problem or not
According to the power blinking timing chart it says-STB SV SENSE Time out BD-BoardLast edited by Baz273; 09-01-2014, 07:01 AM.

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
I did have the moving vertical white stripe running but not for long, would this fix the yellow/blue shadow problem?

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Tom,what would cause the voltage to change on the power board? would it be better to install a new power board and would this new board need to be set up for the TV or just installed with no adjustments needed?
cheers

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
I did reset the TV through the service menu this seemed to reduce the yellow color on white background when watching the TV. I'm not sure with my experience that I could do the adjustment so i guess I will see if it gets worse then get a price on having someone to take a look at the TV its 7 years old and as Panasonic no longer make Plasma TV's I can get the new Panasonic 50 inch led TV for about $1100 so if the cost is to much to repair this TV I will probably just upgrade . Thanks for your help Tom I really appreciate you taking the time....Last edited by Baz273; 09-01-2014, 02:07 AM.

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Hi Tom
I haven't taken the back off the TV, can the voltage be adjusted through the service menu or do you have to do it at the board?. I have downloaded the service manual for the TV and there is a section on adjusting the voltages but I'm not sure how to do this its not clear if this can be done through the service menu or not.
cheers

Panasonic TH-42PZ700A-yellow shadow
Hi
I have a problem with my plasma TV I have yellow and blue shadows appearing when the screen is white (white cloudy sky) I went into the service menu and have a picture of the white test screen all the other test pattens are OK.
Other than the yellow & blue shadows the picture quality is good and have no blinking lights on the TV, any suggestions would be appreciated.
