    Samsung PN50B450B1DXZA Red Sparkles

After repairing the Power issue with a new X Board, the set powered up, but has an amazing amount of Red Sparkles. I'm assuming that is a common issue? I updated the firmware which improved somewhat.
    Any comments on this issue?

did some research, guess when the Y Board is upgraded (replaced originally), the X board should be too, or vice versa. Anyone want to comment?
Firmware and board adjustments are additional fixes. Sometimes they recommend replacing all the boards.

What voltage is Vs currently set to? Try lowering it by 10V.

Tom, is that on the X Board?

        Thank you!

          Re: Samsung PN50B450B1DXZA Red Sparkles

Received a comment from client that when the TV turns on it's somewhat OK, then the red sparkles get progressively worse to the point where you can't watch it. When the TV is turned off for awhile and turned on, it's OK then the whole scenario is recreated.
Do you still think it's the Vs voltage?
Please confirm if that is on the X board

Vs is on the power supply.
I'm not sure about the particular fault, but it's in a Samsung tech doc.

I found the Vs test point and adjustment on the power supply. Should I also perform a factory reset or
'Alignments should be performed whenever a panel is replaced or the SMPS, or Y
Main board. Alignments such as Option Bytes and White balance should at least be
              checked for accuracy.'
As mentioned in the Service Manual?
These older plasma's are not very easy to trouble shoot.
              Thank you!

                No, just decrease Vs.
These older plasmas are easier for troubleshooting, they don't shut everything down after only one fault...

The voltage at Vs and Va were identical to panel sticker. I decreased Vs from 209 down to 200. Still has sparkles, whether it's any better, I'm waiting to hear back from client?

Any chance of a photo of the fault?

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
                      by vincentedel
                      Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                      QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
                      by Manucsl
                      Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...

                      Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
                      by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
                      by ScHAmPi
                      Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
