    Panasonic th-50pz70b bottom screen fault

Hi guys looking for some advice this huge plasma has a problem on the bottom half of the screen skin tones are most noticeable as having a blue negative look to them? hard to describe but as it's on 50% of the screen horizontal bottom I was thinking sustain board? would that make sense, I think the TV is probably too old to throw too much money at but would like to see what the experts on here thought? thanks for any help

Could you perhaps show us a picture of this fault?

Hi Tom, the TV is at my daughters and I doubt it would show in a picture as the clarity is good it just has this blue hue on skin tones!

      Thanks for the reply

First guess would be checking LVDS cable, it's an issue that does affect the PZ80s so maybe also PZ70. I would be surprised if it is a sustain (SC) or scan (SD) fault.

Thanks again Tom, yes it's strange as the picture is great and sometimes you struggle to see the problem, most noticeable when faces are up close and take up the whole screen. would it mean changing the cable are clean and re seat?

          Cheers Ronnie

Just remove, clean and reseat. Usually poking the cable with an insulated screwdriver will make the issue come and go.
These panels do have great picture quality so are well worth saving... the black level might not be great but the overall PQ is excellent.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
              by Alicat
              Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

              Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
              by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

Hitachi 58HK6100U - Horizontal Lines (Bottom third of the screen)
              by kdaniel
As stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.

There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.

After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.

              Left...

              Panasonic SA-MAX770PU SMPSU board fault....
              by Rictech
              Hello everyone. 😀

As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.

Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...
