    Samsung QN50Q6DTA

Hi I just picked up a Samsung QN50Q6DTA. The issues was a 2 red flashes on the power button as the TV tried to turn on. Power supply OK. Backlight LED OK. If I remove the data cable from panel , sound is ON. I was able to identify the issue within one side of the panel. Used the tape fix and I placed the tape on 4 pins on one side of the flat cable. The TV ran great for 4 days and then the same problem appeared again...2 red flashes on the power button LED. Took the back panel off again and this time mode the tape on a different location and now the TV is running again. Am I missing something? Is this a normal behavior for a panel that is normally dying..or is the issue somewhere else?
Anybody has the service manual for this TV?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Probably need to investigate deeper on which signals pins are masked to gain further insight of the failure. Check service manual repository link (type "Samsung QN" into search box) if your main to t-con flex is similar to the QN55Q6DRAF service manual (pg 5-7 5-8 along with main board similaries on T-Con flex)

Where are you from? A possible difference between before and after is the change of wheather / temperature, if you blocked now more faulty signals possibly the fake repair would last more, but do not expect much more, terminated one side, can be the turn of the other side

          Thank you for the info.
Yes the picture quality is not perfect but unnoticeable when viewing a TV show. More noticeable when using the TV as a PC monitor. Click image for larger version

Unfortunately the Main to T-con is one cable only. The T-con is embedded into the main. I should have taken pictures before putting the cover back. Also I could not find a match for my TV type. The TV has been running all day with no failure. We will see what happens. Click image for larger version

Look at the buffer strips, are there such protective diode assemblies (TVS)?

Well, if the image with stripes suits you, then let it work that way.

                      Hi Lotas

I removed the TV back cover and I did not see any protective diodes on either side of the buffer strips. The image is from the end of the buffer strip where the tape solution was applied.

                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
