    LG 60PV250-UB Picture issues

I have a LG 60PV250-UB that works fine at start up and after 15-20 minutes the picture loses all color and gets very fuzzy (see picture). I have tried multiple sources and all are effected the same way as well as the TV's menu in the attached picture. I ran the TV with the back off and the problem would not present. I assume that one of the boards/components are overheating. The hottest board is the large board to the left of the back of the TV with the 3 large heatsinks. I may try replacing this board but wanted to get some opinions before I start buying parts. I do have access to the LG service remote if helpful. Thanks in advance!

Do you have a hair dryer?
To pin point the board or even an area on a board, you can heat it up with the hair dryer and see if tv reacts..
Then also, once you found the heat sensitive area, take a can of air(to clean pc's) and hold the can upside down, then spray a small amount of freon that will now come out of the can onto the suspect area...
between the hair dryer and the can of air you can narrow it down to a pretty small area,if not even onto the heat sensitive component...
I would then carefully look for a bad solder joint in that area first...
I would almost start with the boards on the left(looking at it from the back)...Be careful to not touch anything while it's on,as there is some serious voltage on those boards...

Thank you martino for your reply. I used the hairdryer as you suggested on the YSUS board last night but could not reproduce the problem. I ran out of time and will work on it tonight on the other boards on the left and then move on to the right. I heated the board before powering it on and while it was running but the picture never had any issues even with the board hotter than it usually when the TV is exhibiting issues. There is a buzzing coming from the YSUS board and it gets louder the hotter it gets. I took the board off and there is one spot that is a little browner but it could just be leftover flux. I did take a picture of it before I put it back together just in case.

Update: I tested some more on other boards and still could not produce effect. The Ysus board still gets very hot and the Zsus is only kinda hot. I left the TV with the back cover on for about 45 minutes and it began to have issues. I removed the cover and began checking for heat on the boards. The Ysus felt the same but the Zsus had no heat. I disconnected the power and let the TV sit for a while and plugged it back in to ensure that I had correct picture. I then turned it off and disconnected the Zsus from the power board and powered the TV back on and the picture issue I have been having produced itself. I plugged the Zsus back in and the TV worked fine. I assume that this is still not enough information to determine that it is just the Zsus so checking voltages would be next while the TV is malfunctioning. Where should I check and what voltages should I look for? Are there any other boards that could be effected by this? I attached a picture of the back of the TV for reference.

Did you check the solder side of the z board for cold solder joints?

Try checking Vzb voltage on Z-sustain too, it should be clearly marked.

              Re: LG 60PV250-UB Picture issues

I checked the VZB voltage and with the picture functioning the voltage is 110v, non functioning the voltage is 96v. I also checked the VSC voltage on the YSUS and functioning it is 60v and non functioning it is 60v so it seems to be fine. I checked the VS and the +5v coming into the ZSUS and they are within range and don't change functioning or not. I guess unless there is anything else I should check or if I find a bad or cold solder joint I will replace the ZSUS. They seem to go for 20 bucks or so on eBay. Thank you martino and tom66 for the help!

Sure about 60V Vsc, because that is too low?

Yeah..... I got lazy with my multimeter. Retested at 148v.

Replaced the Z-Sustain and it works fine. Only cost $47, I found it local and with a 90 day warranty instead of a eBay part. Thanks for all the help!
