Samsung UEMU6199U - no Standby - bad Firmware?

    Hi everyone,
I've got a Samsung UEMU6199U which has no Standby LED and no reaction if try turning it on.
Voltages on the power supply board is okay. Backlight test is also okay.

I read about a corrupt firmware on IC1604 on some models, did a dump of this IC and turns out: First sectors are empty.
So I think my TV has exactly this issue.

Can someone please fix the dump?

And how do you do that?

As I understand you fill in the empty sectors and leave the rest as it is. But where do you get the "information" of what you should put in the empty sectors?
I searched the whole internet for a firmware file for my exact model, but didn't find anything (besides of dumps on pay-websites)
I want to help other people on the platform here, too So that's why I'm asking

    Technical data:
    • Model: UEMU6199U(XZG)
    • Board: BN41-02568B
    • IC1604: Winbond 25Q40

    Thanks a lot in advantage!

Try it, don't forget to set and write the status register (0x88, 0x42) after writing a correct dump.

In the meantime I tried to fix the firmware myself. Found a working bin here in the forum from a UEMU61200 and copy/pasted the missing bits to my dump-file.

Could maybe one have a look at it, if I did it right?

(Cannot flash the file back to the IC, because I only have a EZP2019+ programmer, which is unable to set status register. But CH341 is already ordered and arrives in a few days)

Oh sorry! Didn't wanted to ignore you. Took a while to write my comment. I'll check that out. Thank you a lot!!!!

EDIT: And it looks similar to my own fix!

Yes, you did it right, the model and size of the panel are not important here, the software version is important here, with each software update, the data also changes in 25Q40, the software number should be the same in eMMC and in SPI Flash (25Q40).

Okay, so that means as an alternative I simple could've read the dump from eMMC and take that as my copy-source?
Learned something new today - thank you!

Dump eMMC weighs 8 GB, and dump spi flash 512 kB. I wrote about the software version number, which is updated via the Internet or USB, and this software number must match.
If the version number does not match, the TV will show a standby indicator, but the TV itself will not be able to turn on.

Okay got it with the version numbe

Just one more (maybe stupid) question:

Is there some kind of editor or viewer which decodes samsung TV firmwares?
Actually I did everything "blind" with a standard hex editor.

Yes, I also do it through the HEX editor, but I already have all the blanks (all versions) and I just look at the beginning of the broken dump, and I already know which "header" to insert...

It worked! TV is TVing again.
Thanks very much for your help and explanations!

(Unfortunately I somehow broke the panel... was very careful and layed it down on a soft towel. The panel is cracked across the entire screen. Maybe some stress/tension crack while I layed it down...)

It must be placed on a flat, hard surface...

The surface was flat and it was no thick towel.
Thin like a kitchen towel but as big as the TV.

So I am wondering... but maybe that happened some time before.
the TV was stored for over a year because I never figured out what was wrong until I saw the thread regarding the firmware

TV Samsung UE55HU8500L (2014) – service menu + firmware reflashing advice needed
                          by Robby-Gr
                          Hi all,

I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.

However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.

The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.

                          Additional issues:...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                          by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

                          Hi,

I'm hoping someone with access to the Samsung GSPN can help me. I need someone with access to download a firmware file for my PN63C550 TV, as it will fix a problem per the Samsung service bulletin.

You can reference Samsung bulletin #:ASC20130528001 and I need the [2D63]LOGIC.bin file please.
The full service bulletin is linked here: https://www.avsforum.com/attachments...3-pdf.1080602/

Will you please help me get the [2D63]LOGIC.bin file for my TV?

                          by ChristianBr01
                          Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...
