Thank you for directing me in the correct direction. That thread is quite long and I'm kindly asking if you can point me in the right direction. It would seem as if that cap is on the PSU board but I cannot find it. I have not removed any of the other boards yet and I suspect it is on the bottom of the board with the HDMI, VGA, composite, etc - inputs on it. Is that correct?

C102. Read post 129 for screeching and rebooting problem.

It is on the main board on the bottom side, look at the picture of post 129.

I found it! Thank you budm I had reviewed your photos (a lot) before I asked and I still had difficulty locating it. It does not have a specific marking C102 but it is the cap located right next to IC101. I just needed to take my time

just wanted to say thanks to this community, especially budm!

i found this thread googling about the power cycling/static sound/bad picture issues I was having on my ln40a530p1fxza. i replaced the C102 cap and now it works perfectly.

Okay here are the pics let me know if you need a more clear image or closer shot i added the psu as well. The sound is coming from the speakers at least what I think. It has only made the sound 2 times since i have been working on it.

Any Main board like this, I ALWAYS replace the caps on C102 and C131. They are labeled NEx AS7. It uses a regular 47uf 50V cap. I just pull them off scrap parts i have laying around. That usually fixes the screeching and power cycling issues.
