samsung PN43D450A2D relay clicking no sound no picture

So when I plug in the power cord the relay on the psu just clicks a few times and the green led on the logic board blinks then goes off

Red standby light is on
When i press the power button on the remote the relay clicks a few times again

I tested the vs, va and vsc with all boards connected and I get a 0.000 reading

I disconnected all the boards and plugged the power cord to the psu and I get a 0.000 reading again on va, vs, and vsc

So I connected the main board only to the psu powered it and now I get the samsung chime/melody when I power it on. And I get one click from the relay on the psu and about after 10-15 seconds the relay clicks once and it powers off. I still get 0.000 on vs, va, and vsc with main board connected

No visible defective components

I still have to remove the boards to inspect the bottom side

I just was working on one of these, check the Z-(x)sus (last picture) there are usually 4 transistors shorted and they usuall replace the drive ic,

4 - RJP30H2A
1 -TND315 ic


Then update the firmware after the repair.

I disconnected the cables to the logic board to the main board and the y board and the tv stays powered on. But I don't see any glow on the panel

Are you talking about the ymain board or the x main board?

You will not see panel glow with a Y-main is disconnected. Anyway these Samsung panels will shut down if the X-main or Y-main is missing. Just check for shorted transistors on the X-main, as R_J says it's a common fault.

Are you talking about the 2 on the heat sink?

How difficult is it to replace the ic driver?

I dint think I can do it since it is so small
I dont have a small soldering tip

Also digikey does not have the tnd315 ic driver in stock and I cant find the RJP301h1 at digikey either

What is the other website I can buy these from?

Test all the transistors, the RJPs fail most often but not always.

Tom just to refresh I place the negative lead on one leg and the positive on the other 2 legs and reverse the procedure to test the transistors?

Can I test these on the board?

Test all three combinations of pins: 1-2, 2-3 and 1-3; the polarity doesn't matter for now, you're just looking for short circuits.
They can be tested in circuit.

Numbers 1 and 6 are probably ok, you need to remove the small legs of the transistors 2-5 as they are connected in parallel. There are kits available on internet

No, to me, looks like 1-6 all shorted.

You will need reasonable soldering skills to replace the FETs and the driver IC. It's not necessarily about a small tip - that helps - your iron must also hold temperature well, so it really needs to be temperature regulated.

I think you can buy all the bits from eBay.

I will try to find the fets and ic on digikey

My soldering skills are decent im just worried about the ic driver

If I can find a cheap replacement board I will just buy yhat instead

just making sure I did this correctly

I ordered the repair kit with the 4 fets and ic driver from ebay

but they do not have the other 2 fets I need and I checked digikey they do not have them on their website

anyone know where I can buy these

When I plugged in the power cord the tv started up with the samsung chime, psu started clicking then I heard a small pop and magic smoke coming from the xmain board near the capacitors
But I do not see any burn marks or blown components


Im just going to order a new board
I will retest the components I replaced to see if they were damaged

Usually the easiest way, may be worth having a poke around the ymain too since the X & Y are connected to each other. I've had a X take out the y in a C series and have that shorted
