Samsung UN82TU700DFXZA turns on and off continuously

I picked up a Samsung UN82TU700DFXZA, when plugged in I can see the backlights come on, it sounds like it makes the startup sound and then the backlights go back out and it continues this process. I don't believe that I've seen any kind of image show. Has anyone seen this happen before?

Investigating some more I notice when it reboots each time the standby light blinks twice and you can hear the TV click. Sometimes the startup sound will play other times it restarts before it does. Some searching has turned up issues similar where one or more of the panel clock signals have shorted and people have got the panel back up by blocking that clock signal. I will see what I can determine tomorrow when I disassemble the back.

This is Samsungs method of telling you the panel shorted and is dead. Aka it's a goner.

There is rare chances that there could be a short on the buffer boards from a cap.

Also your research is likely correct.. you can sometimes block a clock signal with tape and you'll get a picture with a varying degree of degradation.

Also take a pic of each buffer boards and post it here.. certain models have protection diodes that can be removed. I'm sure another member would be able to point you to which one (if it has any)

Well doesn't look like I have to worry about it, it appears I broke the bottom corners of the screen getting the back off of it. Which is strange because I used the same method to pop it loose on my 70" just like it, just slide a plastic door panel clip removal tool in just ever so slightly to pop the panel clips. Strange thing is that after I broke the corners of the panel the tv booted up fine and stayed running, granted there is nothing displayed except several lines going across the bottom of the screen, some times it changes and the lines run from top to bottom. Well I'll pull the boards out of the tv and hopefully find somewhere to recycle this panel. Does anyone know where they will accept such a large panel to recycle?

If you take the boards out they don't really "recycle them" so just trash it at a dump. Well at least here in Florida only the chassis is usable otherwise it's electronic waste

Such a shame that all this stuff ends up in the dump, I'm hoping my 55" and 70" TU series don't follow in the same foot steps as this 82" TU series did. My 32" Vizio from 2008 still runs just like the day I bought it. Figure I'll at least pull the boards out of the unit incase I need it to repair another TV set or need some of the components for something else I'm working on.

Just search electronics recycling in your zip code.

for me, 82" means a severe addict to tv prog. and this is the right end it had to be... 55 inches is enough big for the most of the houses, unless someone has tennis balls at place of eyes.. and the service of those beasts is too hard especially if one doesn t know what he does..

Well I picked up the 55" and 70" for a grand total of $50. The 70" main board had shorted due to a power surge/lightning strike, the 55" worked except the inputs on the main board got fried via the Dish Network box. I have maybe $100 in boards and got them both going. I knew I was taking a chance on the 82" at $125, live and learn though.

Just remember to keep the buying price low, especially with samsung because they have been churning out pure junk for a while now.

Those are damn cheap prices, but depends also on the resale price.. i don't think is possible working on a 70 + inches alone..

Yup now you know, rebooting Samsung is parts only! No money for those

And I work on 85-6 inch alone all the time. Even remove the screens alone as well. But I'll tell you I was definitely afraid to do it at first but went fine. Lots of flex in screens

Good point Easybone, if I couldn't work on a large tv alone, I would find another hobby.

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
                            by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                            I made the following tests:
                            1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
                            2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...
