    Samsung UN46C8000FXZA TCON?

    Hey guys-
I'm trying to diagnose this one and was wondering what your thoughts are. I'm leaning towards a bad T-Con board. Is there anything else that would cause this display issue?

My guess is bad panel based on the one strip that looks good. But, I guess it could be the t-con

      99% bad panel IMO.

try disconnecting either side of the T-con and see if it makes any sort of difference... I have had a C series tv recently which showed symptoms of panel failure which turned out to be a bad T-con too!

        Good luck,

Thanks, DemonBG, what should I expect when disconnecting either side?

Ok, I did some homework. It's hard to take a picture with one hand with a crappy phone! Anyhow, when I unplugged one side of the T-Con. One side went black. Then I unplugged the other side, I still had one side lit up, but it got splotchy and went to darkness within a minute or two. Picture one is the set with both sides plugged in, pic 2 is with one side unplugged. I didn't include the pic with both unplugged because, as I said... the set went to total darkness. I thought it was unusual that with one side of the T-Con unplugged that right side of the picture went out and when I unplugged the other side (both cables out), the left side still lit up, but then went to darkness. Any clues?

It sounds like this could be a panel fault to be honest...
Have you tried Only plugging in the right side of the panel?

Just one more thing - I would never unplug an LVDS cable while the TV is powered on... there are some very sensitive electronics around there and you could end up damaging things this way (Ask me how i know :P)

                Regards,
