    Busted panel corners... Repairable?

I have a 50" Toshiba bezel-less that I replaced backlights in a few weeks ago. The tape didn't hold well so the panel started hanging from the top. The pressure caused the two bottom corners to shear off. I can see a court contact on the right corner, but the left is gone in assuming. The screen is not cracked anywhere else, but it displays no image.

Is it at all repairable? I'm assuming not.

I've done this before accidentally... Tossed it. Gave the new lights to the trash because it pissed me off lol.

I use a glue to put the screen back on. B7000 maybe? It's used for cellphones so it can be removed later and cleaned up unlike super glue. Pain in the ass to get out though and needs a good day to dry. Never failed me so far.

I used the proper LCD mounting tape from Amazon. Funky name but was actually 3M tape inside the package. I actually sold this tv and after a week the lady messaged me saying the screen was coming off from the top corner. I immediately told her to wrap tape around the top corners to keep it secured because she had it mounted on the wall. I offered to either repair, exchange, or refund. After a few days she brings it back and I ignorantly gave her money back without checking it. I plugged it in and no image. Took off the bottom frame and that's when I found the corners cracked.

I told her to tape because I KNEW this would happen.. She messaged me the next morning saying she didn't have tape πŸ˜‘ I said literally ANY tape will work.. Then I told her AGAIN. Well she obviously didn't tape it. Willful negligence and I should've checked beforehand, because it was 100% preventable if she had done as I asked. Oh well, she got her money back and I got a broken tv πŸ˜’πŸ˜‚

I don't understand why manufacturers don't rubberize the edges of the glass. It would be cheap and add SO much more durability. Oh wait, they WANT it to break so you'll but another one.. Silly me πŸ™„

Idk...I understand the corners chipped, but I'm not convinced that it is what's wrong. The contact in the one corner is still in tact, but it looks like it just dead ends down there for some reason within the glass. The other side where you don't see a contact looks like there's not even supposed to be one. Regardless, I expect there should be *something* on the screen like lines. I can't even get a half image disconnecting one side at a time. No flickering when poking at the corners or any of the bottom ribbons. I can hear the menu clicking around when I press buttons, but I see absolutely nothing but a blank, lit screen.

Did you encounter the same thing? I did check the tcon voltages and they are good.

            You must be bored 😯😯

            No not the same thing.

You can clearly see broken glass on the screen corners. I've had this before though.. every tv with broken glass acts different. I've seen many videos of a kid thrown item at screen and it just turns black and never shows lines or anything else.

LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
              by howardc64
49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
              by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

              tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

              QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
              by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....

Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
              by maneatingmonkey
I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
              by howardc64
              • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
              • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
              • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
              • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
              • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display
