    LG OLED77G2PUA Not Powering On After Storm

    Got it for free on marketplace because it stopped working after a storm.

    When I began troubleshooting the power supply, I fried 2 fuses and a mosfet by shorting 2 pins on accident, but I've replaced those components.

    The tv had a soundbar connected, which was also killed by the storm. On the tv side I found a transistor shorted on the hdmi 2 (arc) and a lot of capacitors shorted on the main board.

    Disconnecting and reconnecting the psu to main board cable, while still being connected to 120 V AC, would wake things up, such as a red light from the optical port on the original motherboard and the cpu would begin to warm up.

    When I first plugged in the replacement main board there were no signs of life. But, I removed the cable going from the psu to main board and reconnected which turned on the led indicator. I tried powering on but nothing happened.

    Here are my steps troubleshooting the power supply per LG service manual.

    2. PWR-ON Check : P201
    - SET On : above 3V
    - SET St-by: OV

    ***** 3.3 V *****

    3. 12V Level Check : P201
    - SET On: 12V
    - SET St-by : 7.8V (swing between 7V to 10V)

    ***** 11.9 V *****

    4. DRV_ON Check: P201
    - SET On : above 2.5V
    - SET St-by : OV
    ***** 3.3 V *****

    5. T-CON 23V Check : P204
    T-CON 12V Check : P202
    - SET On: above 23V / V12V
    - SET St-by : OV
    ***** 12 V TESTS AT 10.9 V *****
    @@@@@***** 23V TESTS AT 0.6 V ***** @@@@@@

    12VM -> 10.9 V
    20VS -> 18.2 V
    PWR_ON -> 3.3 V
    DRV_ON -> 3.3 V

    DPC -> 0 V
    ACD -> 0 V
    12VT_ON -> 3.4 V

    Are the DPC and ACD voltages supposed to be 0 V? Is the 12VT_ON supposed to be 12 V instead of the 3.4 V? The service manual has those 5 steps and doesn't mention these 3 in them.

    As you can see theres very low voltage at the 23 V line for the panel. So will I need to buy a new power supply board?

    Thanks guys, I know this post is all over the place, but I tried my best to show what I have found so far.

    Haha yeah it's all over the place. Just know when you get a replacement board.. sometimes that board can be defective also. Since you already got some boards coming I'd love to hear what happens

      LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
      by valvashon
      The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
      Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

      TCL Roku 55S403TCAA dead after storm
      by bobbintb
      I have a TCL Roku 55S403TCAA. It quit working after a storm. Other electronics quit working as well so I am pretty sure the storm had something to do with it. Anyway, I took a look at it, no obvious damage, blown components, scorch marks, etc. I am looking at the power board first, 40-L141H4-PWG1CG. I've repaired bad caps and blown components but nothing more extensive beyond that. I am trying to troubleshoot it, but I can't even find the fuse on this board. There are markings on the PCB saying "replace fuse as marking" however. I attached a photo of the board. I am also testing the...

      Strange! Acer laptop not powering on but charging the battery (orange light on when charger and battery plugged in).
      by serious_electron
      Hello Everyone!

      I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.

      ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING — Board not powering on properly
      by ShadowAi12
      Hi,
      I recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard that was listed as "dead, not powering on." However, it does show some signs of life. I've performed several basic measurements and would like to share the results.
      • The board enters a "ready to power on" state after plugging in the PSU.
      • Pressing the power button increases power draw.
      • Sometimes, touching the RSMRST_L pad with a multimeter probe causes the board to shut off and return to standby.
      Measurements:
      (taken after pressing the power button, while the board is attempting to start)

      MacBook A2442 not powering on – suspecting CD3217, but replacement didn’t help
      by TechSplendid
      Hi All,

      I'm working on a MacBook Pro A2442 (14", 2021) that's not powering on. On two out of three USB-C ports, I get 5V and the current briefly ramps up to around 0.210A before dropping to 0.036A. On the third port (JF600), I only get 0.0045A and it stays there.

      Initially, I suspected a faulty CD3217 on that port, especially since I noticed signs of previous liquid damage near the JF600 USB connector. I replaced the CD3217 with an UF400 (from an A2442 donor board from the same location). According to the supplier, this should be a compatible version, but the behavior...
