So I gambled and (likely) lost $200 on a pair of OLED C1 televisions, hoping I can Frankenstein them into 1 working unit.
one had a physically-damaged panel and the other had a panel that would display normally (with the exception of a single vertical white line down the left-hand side) but turn off after around 10 seconds. I believed I would find an overheated processor (common on the CX) or a failed power board (also common).
Swapped the power, mainboard, and T-con from the dead panel TV and issue persists.
Looks like the actual panel is at fault. I can use a piece of tape to block the shut-down signal to the mainboard to keep the tv from shutting down, but i'd like to attempt a component-level repair on the panel to restore the signal to that column of pixels.
Is there any information out there about this?
