Samsung Plasma TV, humming buzzing sound

    Hi there.
    got problem with sound.
TV worked fine all the time, and within a month the buzzing started.
at the beginning it was barely audible, now its unbearable.

basically I hear humming buzzing very annoying
the buzz vary depends if tv displays light or dark colours.
Although changing brightness (any tv settings) doesnt affect it.

I tried to narrow down a problem by isolating components.
I unplugged all sus boards leaving power_supply, av and main cpu board.
    and still hear same sound.
I replaced power supply board => problem still the same.

I'm planning to replace AV board.
Do you recon it could help?

    What could cause it ?

    tv spec:
    Plasma Samsung PS-50C96HD
    POWER SUPPLY PCB = BN44-00189A
    AV PCB = BN94-01177C
    DIGITAL PROCESSING PCB = LJ41-04776A

Would it be possible for you to make a recording of the noise and upload it, it sounds like it could be a 50Hz "ground loop" effect caused by a loose ground connection somewhere.

      Hi Tom66
yes you right, I checked on youtube what 50hz ground loop sounds like
      and yes.. that's the noice.

I just wonder how that developed over time, and how to fix it?

some says.. disconnect ground on one side.
like remove ground from tv chassin.

      any thoughts ?

Re: Samsung Plasma TV, humming buzzing sound

The most likely cause is one of your devices attached to your TV is not properly grounded and passing ground return current through the ground.

Try disconnecting devices one at a time, and see if the issue is resolved.

Whatever you do, DO NOT disconnect any device grounds currently connected, as this removes a vital safety system that must be preserved.

here is what I found out.
I have another small samsung tv. (tested, same result)
the only thing connected at the moment is PS3 using RCA cable.
on both tv I got humm, buzz.. so it must be ground loop buzz.

tried another rca cable.. same buzz.
either I have both cable fautly or there is something else.

found one solution on ebay called "RCA GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR".
I might give it a try.

now I know what cause ground loop in general.

but I dont understand why that issue developed over time.
I didnt have that problem in past.

          any thoughts ?

Can be due to a rusty ground connection.

Samsung Plasma PN43E450A1F - No Picture / Pop Sound
              by willis6732
The customer of this TV Heard a pop sound before it went dead.

The VS and VA voltages turn on imediatly and then slowly die off.

I got a replacement Y-Board (Large board on the left) from aliexpress and still no luck

If tested all the IC chipson the board all the way on the left by running meter along the connectors and couldnt find any shorts there...

I think ive checked most the capacitors for shorts as well as most of the diodes and mosfet/transistors on the big boards.

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
              by jchang
              Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

              Symptom:
              No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
              No sound at all.

              What I tried:
              1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
              by Ierwin
              Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
              by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
