So they want me to eat the shipping charges. Lucky I paid with Paypal. I'm disputing this. What kind of outfit is this place? Plus it's a buffer board, the easiest board to test.

    NEVER USE THEM!

i doubt any used boards are tested - most just come from tv's with smashed screens and people assume they worked before the smash.

yeah, they can't lose. A free testing service provided by you! Mind you there would be some dodgey buyers too trying it on.

Most state that shipping is not refunded and the item needs to be returned.

I try to stick to the reliable sellers and establish a relationship, better chance of them getting to know the customer and getting a full refund.

Looks to be a fairly expensive board to track down. $17 for it but chepaest on the bay is around $60.

It's not even worth it to send it back unless I get my shipping and the price of the board. Canada Post is very expensive.

See how Paypal goes. Usually the best option.

Worst part is it's for an old Legend 42" plasma. It's not even worth fixing. It was more of a project to say "hey I fixed it"

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...

Schematic or datasheet for Plasma TV buffer chip
                  by Yanleb
                  Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....
