I have no picture but everything else is working. Totally responsive remote to change channels and inputs. sound is fine. led light on the outside is fine. one click when turned on like always has. read a bunch of threads and am thinking of swapping x and y boards. I do not have the electric reader tools to check for blown anything. took the back off and everything visually looks good, nothing melted or swollen capacitors . I would appreciate some advice though,thanks.

Sounds like the common issue with this Samsung panel. Maybe get the buffer as well and replace the 3 at once. Visually as you've discovered there's rarely anything to spot. -

Xmain is usually the most common failure and a bad xmain can kill the ymain as they are connected to each other.
I needed x & y for my Samsung, buffer was ok but I got the 3 because i was getting the bits from the US and needed to get it right first time.Last edited by tw2005; 03-22-2014, 06:32 PM.Comment

Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.

Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... -
This is my first posting, so forgive me everyone in advance if I made mistake(s) in my posting.
I know there have been much about this plama tv already and I have read through most what I could find. However; I still have not come across any service lit/schematics for this tv. I even looked for the 50PS11 which would be basically relevant other than display size. Anyone know to find the documentation would greatly be appreciated.
