50HP66 Display Problems

Hello everyone.

I recently bought a new scaler board for my TV, because through trial and error and some research I found out that the scaler needed to be replaced. The one that I bought came out of a 42" display, and that's all the display that I have on the TV now, the other 8" is pitch black, the screen doesn't extend to it, and the picture displays only to the 42" edge. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Bump, still having this problem. Anyone know of how to get the Firmware download for this TV so I can reformat the Scaler board?

Is the 42" scaler board compatible with the 50"?

Yes it's supposed to be. (same part number and everything) From what I can figure out though it needs a firmware update which I can't find anywhere

I wonder if in the service menu a person can set screen size?????

I've tried that, and there is not an option for it. The only thing that I know is that on the back of the Scaler board there is a USB port for a technician to apply a firmware update.

please post pic of board - I can check the 50hp66 set I have. I believe i have some of these.
