Samsung LN52B550 LCD - Horizontal Bar

Hey everyone,

While I wait for the new Tcon on my own TV, I was looking at picking this one up locally. Have researched the forums to get an idea of what it could be, and narrowing it down to a tab bonding issue or Tcon. Will be looking at it this afternoon, owner also states the bottom 6 inches "is delayed".

What are your thoughts?

Quick question for you Tom- or anyone else: how did you know it was a bad panel and perhaps where could you point me to identify bad panel symptoms easier?

New to the forum and have poured over the guides and posts, just trying to learn more- thanks.

Side note- after I passed on the set the seller told me they had a tech look at it and he said the panel was bad.

99% of the time, a regional defect on an LCD screen is the panel. (Regional: only part of the screen affected, without obvious repeating pattern or markings.) I have a Toshiba 37" here with the same fault unfortunately, and it's not fixable. We can apply a little pressure to it to try and get it working briefly, but it fails shortly afterwards.
