LG Plasma TV will not turn on - Need Help

Hello all. I'm in need of some help.

I have a LG Plasma TV 50PC3DH that will not turn on. It died while watching a show when it blinked with a white screen two or three times before turning off. Now when I try to turn on the TV, it clicks like its trying but then, after about 3 seconds, it turns back off. No picture or light is shown while it's trying to turn on.

I opened the TV and noticed some bulging capacitors on the power board, so I sent the power board to get repaired. When I reinstalled the power board, the symptoms didn't change.

Next, I checked the resistance between the Vs and ground on the YSUS and the ZSUS boards and found a short on the ZSUS. I replaced the ZSUS board with a refurbished board. Still, the TV will not turn on.

I checked all the voltages on the connectors, and they all seem to be correct. I don't know what to check next or how to find the problem component. If anyone can please give me some advice on how to determine what the problem is, I would greatly appreciate it.

Attached is a visual of the tv circuitry.

This unit appears use the same chassis as a plasma that I was just able to repair: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34861. Long story short, I had to replace a MOSFET on the power supply board as well as an defective Z-sustain board.

The manual entitled " lg_50pc1dr_troubleshooting_manual.pdf" was VERY helpful. I would recommend that you download a copy of that. That PDF outlines resistance values for each board and their major components. You should quickly be able to determine which board/boards are bad by measuring the resistances and comparing them to the values in that PDF. Good luck!

Sorry for the slow reply, I had to go out of town.

After going through the trouble shooting guide mentioned above, I checked what I could make sense of, but I did not come up with anything definitive. While checking all the voltages against what is printed on the ysus board again, I measured 5.8 volts on the +5VF pin on the connector from the ysus to the y driver board. All the other pins on the ysus board calling for 5 volts measure 4.9 volts. Does this show a faulty ysus board or is the 5.8 volts an acceptable reading?

Also, how do I check to see if the y driver boards are ok?

      I'd really appreciate more help!

Hello, HP laptop model 15-EU0005NA. It does not turn on, 1 in 100 manages to turn it on then after a while it freezes/disappears/flashes, etc.

After removing the motherboard and connecting the board with RAM to the power supply, I noticed that at first all voltages start correctly and after a few seconds 3.3V on the PL4501 coil disappears and somewhere in this area something starts beeping on the board, sometimes after touching it with a finger in the area of PL4551 it stops beeping and 3.3V appears again.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

        Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Maldischarge-link that fixes it with replacing caps
        by r-p
Starting this thread because Capkid doesn't seem to be reprogramming controlboards anymore (LG 60PZ950 with red maldischarge) and my game-plasma also has maldischarge (Hitachi 42PD3200). So I will grasp at straws to keep them running. I am extremely bad at throwing stuff away.

Is there any merit to this link?

Very short version: Specific caps seem to loose their capacitance and/or increase their ESR. This may cause the maldischarge. Replace them with better/bigger/newer ones and problem solved.

From the limited knowledge I have on the subject, I think...
