Toshiba 32AV504D clicking then switches off

hi everyone.
ca someone please give me some advice regarding the fault with my tv.
when you press the power button on front panel the green led lights up then the relay on powerboard clicks after 5 seconds the green led goes out and just the red led remains on.i have checked the electrolytic caps all seem ok with good esr readings.i have tried it without inverter board plugged in but the problem is the same.

Hi have you checked out that white block resistor and whatever is under it?
There must be another board where the black and white leads from the top of the board go.
Perhaps check the voltages on the connectors to the main board
a) when its just plugged in
b) when you press the power button
c) when it goes into fault.

Another thing to try is to unplug the cable that goes from the main board to the panel
it is just to the right of the Genesis chip.

I am seeing a lot of sets on here where the main chip on the main board is damaged by a power surge on the HDMI on this one it looks like there is nothing at all to offer protection so guess hdmi should only be plugged when the set is off/unplugged to be safe.

thanks for your help,those black and white wires go to the inverter board,im going to try and unplug the lvds cable from the side of the chip now and report back with what happens.ill get those voltages for you tommorow.

i have tried unplugging the lvds cable but the problem is still there.

i have taken some voltage readings from top connector of power board
these are with the cable unplugged from main av board.

5v-------------5.16v
5v-------------5.16v
3.3v-----------0v
6v-------------0v
9v-------------0v

i then reconnected the cable to av board and tested again.
switch on power button on front of tv and get these voltages
5v--------------5.07v --------relay clicks then drops to 0v
5v--------------5,07v---------relay clicks then drops to 0v
3.3v------------3.4v-----------relay clicks then drops to 0v
6v---------------6.07v---------relay clicks then drops to 0v
9v---------------8.9v-----------relay clicks then drops to 0v

really hope someone can help .

I have exactly the same problem? Has anyone found the cause? Has anyone solved this defect?
