RCA42PA30RQ/Samsung 842AX-YB09 half of screen is blank

Hello, 1st time posting my problem. What a great place to find answers.
I have an RCA 42PA30RQ plasma that has a Samsung chassis 842AX-YB09
The screen is blank on the left half. Well, maybe not quite half, say 40%
This is not Horz or Vert. It's both just like ya cut 40% of the screen off.
Once I figure how to insert some pictures, I'll post them. All I get trying to insert is a ULR option rather than a search/PC option.
OK, got the upload figured out, sorry for the blurry phone pic.

Nothing seems overly apparently burnt of broken. Usually I can find the bad caps if that's the cause but nothing severe on it.

Thanks for looking. Any help would be grateful.

Probably one of the fusible-resistors on the thin boards that run along the bottom edge of the panel...

Something usually causes those fusibles to fail--such as the tabs breaking down and shorting--seen this a couple of times when customer cleans the screen--with too much window-cleaner--that shorts and destroys the tabs--destroying the panel at the same time.
--There is no cure if the tabs are burned up.
--Could also be one of the tab buffer-chips gone short killing the resistor too--again, no cure, as tab is part of the panel.

Remove that steelwork from along the bottom under the speakers and the mounting-bracket, you'll see the two boards, carefully look for the large fusible surface-mount resistors--cant really miss 'em....

Thanks Mr E, I'll start checking on that. This is a friends TV and wanted me to try and see what could be wrong with it. The bottom boards do point that direction but a little harder to get at.
      Thanks again

        You nailed it Mr T.
Once I took off the stand, I could see it right away. Now the fun part begins...Would you recommend finding a used board or try replacing the blown resister? On the pc, it's labeled as C2614
        Would anyone know the value?

That's a capacitor. Surface mount style. That thing violently blew. Might be better off replacing the board. There cheap enough

            Thanks Mr freakaftr8, do I get 3 guess's on your screen name...LOL
I been checkin on ebay and found a few. Will try one and hope the ribbon cables are not shorted. I just sent an email to my friend asking if they pour on the windex....I bet that was what happened.

Yes hopefully the chips embedded in the ribbons have not burned. Possibly the board went out before the screen was affected. Is there any other evidence of liquid intrusion?

I can't seen any on the boards. There might be some from the screen ribbon but I'd have to take the face bezel off to see any further. I'll pock around with the flashlight some more.

Looked at the chips and don't see any obvious problems so far. The far chip on right end did seem to have the thermal grease dried out a tad compared to the others. Maybe with a little luck, a board will do the trick.
I'll get the board ordered and let you all know how it turns out.

I did take a close look at the trace and I could probably make it work but I'm gona get a complete board anyway.

PS: It was the "F" side

When handling those thin orange ribbons--be extremely careful--they are delicate--the oblong silver things that are on them are the buffer-chips themselves, and are heatsunk to the steel frame by 'dead-toad' silicone pads...

Very carefully lift them from the frame after you have removed the steel rail that covers them and just take a look at the condition of the tab (ribbon).

Burn-up will be obvious, hopefully you wont find any!

                        It's a live................

Received the F-Buffer board I got of Ebay today.
Put it in paying carefull attention to the ribbon strips.
                        Put everything back together twice.
Left a screwdriver inside the first time...LMAO
Crossed my fingers and put the juice back in it.

                        Have a look-see

Thanks for the helpful guidance everyone.
