    Samsung UE32B6050VW Vertical lines

Trashdigged this TV today, it's a fairly fresh model, from 2010.

It worked perfectly for the first ten minutes.
Then, all of sudden the screen was filled with vertical lines
Is it a bad TCON? TCON model is 35-D041566

    Put TV into standby
Then on remote press INFO, MENU, MUTE, and finally POWER.

    Access Control > Test Pattern.

You have three pattern selections (press left/right to move through each pattern, up/down for each generator):
    - FBE Pattern Sel: This is the main board pattern generator, the OSD is added on top.
    - FRC BeforeDDR: This pattern is generated on the t-con before the FRC converts the video (50Hz -> 100Hz, etc.)
    - FRC AfterDDR: This is after the DDR is used to process the video for the FRC.

If the fault exists only on FBE Pattern Sel: main board
If it exists on only the BeforeDDR or AfterDDR: t-con board

Possibly, if you can narrow it down to Before/AfterDDR you could identify exact t-con fault.

I have UE32B6000 in my room right now (working; just waiting for remote to sell), if you need any tests (which do not require disassembly) just ask.

      Thanks for your message.
The lines appeared on FBE Pattern Sel and FRC BeforeDDR

On FRC AfterDDR there were no lines.

      What would this suggest?

        Re: Samsung UE32B6050VW Vertical lines

Remind me, does the BeforeDDR pattern have any OSD?
Sounds like t-con board, though not sure.

You could try heating/cooling to see if you can locate the exact fault.

          Re: Samsung UE32B6050VW Vertical lines

Used some freeze spray on the chips on TCON and the lines disappeared. Heated them up and the lines appeared again.
Probably thats why the TV worked perfectly at first, because it was about -1C outside when I found it.
Time to order a new TCON, thanks for your help

Edit: what is the correct model of the remote for this TV? I think it uses the same remote as yours UE32B6000.

I have a Samsung LE40A656 remote which works this TV just fine, pretty much any Samsung remote will work. Also the B550 (not B650 as that is Smart-ish and the UE-B6000 is not)

Thanks. If you still have the TV, could you check for the part. no of the tabletop stand if there is one?
I have the stand neck, but the actual base is missing.

Just a quick update on this: The original TCON was indeed the culprit. The replacement TCON was also faulty (ordered from FlatTVParts.co.uk).

In the end I finally got a working TCON board and the TV works nicely. Also was able to find a used stand cheaply.
