I'd like to learn how to think this thru, so let me know if this is good logic... Putting in the good fuse must be opening a circuit that probably has a short which is triggering a safety fault which shuts off the tv. Since the fuse is on the zsus, the issue is probably a short that's on the zsus, in the path of the bad fuse, and it's significant enough to trigger a shut-off fault.Comment

Yes, 99% of the time on these a bad fuse is caused by the IPM module, under the black heatsink.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I disconnected power supply to zsus and tested resistance of both fuse-holders to the frame, and the holder which had the bad fuse was grounded (about 1 ohm), and other holder was around 49 k-ohms.
I also rechecked resistance on the vzbias mosfet (disconnected power) and got much different readings. Probably did it wrong before.
G: 97 k-ohm
D: 97 k-ohm
S: 5 ohm

I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After... -
Starting this thread because Capkid doesn't seem to be reprogramming controlboards anymore (LG 60PZ950 with red maldischarge) and my game-plasma also has maldischarge (Hitachi 42PD3200). So I will grasp at straws to keep them running. I am extremely bad at throwing stuff away.
Is there any merit to this link?
Very short version: Specific caps seem to loose their capacitance and/or increase their ESR. This may cause the maldischarge. Replace them with better/bigger/newer ones and problem solved.

LG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.
Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V
Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between

Originally this set had the usual messed up video symptoms such as: horizontal lines, weak, grainy video, bottom and top of picture differ in intensity of problem. It also seemed to slow to turn on or show the messed up picture.
Seemed like must be YScan/buffer board failure. Ordered buffer boards from my distributor which were supposed to be original/new and also from another distributor, I ordered the YSUS because I wanted to replace it for preventative maintenance. TL;DR: iPad not turning on, A10 and power IC become (very) warm when attempted to turn on but this power-on cycle has a 'cooldown' period wherein powering on doesn't work, does not take more than 0.5A charge.
