    Samsung ps42a457 showing bad image

    First check
    Vs should be 205, it's at 150
    Va should be 54 it's at 41

Unplug x main and y main

All voltages are perfect out of psu

If I plug either boards in, I get the above incorrect voltage

Usually only 1 board has caused this

Does it mean x and y main are both bad??

I would look into power supply area. Somethings wrong in the high voltage output section. It has no problem outputtinng the supply but once put under a load it looses its ability to keep up. Look to capacitors being the prob. Any swollen or bulged?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Could be film cap on primary side going bad too.

Agreed, I had a 42" AKAI plasma with a mylar film cap go bad.. Changed 6 of them.

These are red or orange in color or green with 2 leads off the bottom.
