Vizio Model VP50 HDTV20A

We have this at work and they are going to sale it as it no longer works. The picture just went out on it. I have not gotten the time to take a look at it because it is hung on a wall. I can not tell if there is an image because were it is at it always has light.

Would it be a good investment for 50 bucks ? Let me know what you all think. I am trying to find a good tv to fix to give to my brother for christmas. I would be using this forum to help since i never worked on a tv.

I can use a multimeter and solder. Also the TV has sound.

if your lucky enough to take a look at it before buying, then i would say 50$ sounds about right.
Just make sure you know whats wrong with it, no need to sink a bunch of money into it.

I noticed that with this set, you can probably sell the parts for more than the tv itself if it was working properly..

If you can get it for less than $50, that would great. Otherwise, $50 is not a bad price, since you're not looking to fix and resell it. If it helps you make a decision, the repair is likely to involve repairing or replacing the Y-Sus. This particular model has two versions: One uses Samsung parts, and the other uses LG.

Thanks everyone > i think i will buy it to see if i can get it working. Right now I am trying to hunt down a stand. He says he does not have one.
