vizio JV50P has audio but no video

i have a vizio jv50p plasma tv, it has been working fine with no issues. about 3 weeks ago i turned the tv on and all seemed fine, but within about 3 minutes the screen went black. the tv still had audio, and i could change the channel with remote. i could not see the channel change but with audio i could tell the channel changed. i turned the tv off and on and it was ok again since then it happens more often than not. when i turn the tv on and all is well the vizio icon turns from amber to white and there is a clicking sound. now when i turn the tv on and the screen goes black when i turn the tv off and back on the light still goes from amber to white but i do not hear the usual clicking noise and the video never comes on, i just get audio. i then have to unplug the tv and plug it back in and can usually get the tv to work. it has gotten worse and is taking many attempts to get te video to stay on. any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a Y-sustain problem. You'll have to open the TV to do a full diagnosis. Do you have a digital multimeter?

I do have a digital multi meter. its the time required to open the tv that I need to find, but if you can tell me what I need to check I would appreciate it.

ken did you have any ideas on how to test voltages,if yes then go to the y_sustain board and check the voltages from the power supply to the the y_sustain,there should be a fuse on the va and the vs lines check those fuses their blown too
