    32" Spectre -- T-con issue?

Picked this set up with a bunch of others. Mostly broken screens but I bought them as a lot and got a couple that are fixable. This one was brand new and still has the stickers on it. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this looks like a T-con problem but thought I'd ask for a few more opinions. I wouldn't normally even buy one of these but it cost less than $10 so I figure I may as well try to repair it.

As you can see in the pictures the colors get this kind of white, almost ghosting in the images. Especially lighter colors.

    Thanks as always,

    Aaron

Oh, and if it makes any difference it's an AUO panel.

Looks like solarisation - main board problem usually.

Ah, ok. New term for me. I'll see how much the main board runs. Don't want to put much in to it but again for the price I paid its hard to go wrong.

        Thanks Tom

Can just be wrong panel setting, see if you can get into a service menu.

I guess : GAMMA IC on T-CON is NG.

Check all the gamma voltages .

It is unlikely to be gamma voltages because of how sharp the transitions are, when the gamma chip goes bad the transitions are still smooth.

I'm at work right now but will check when I get home. Of course I'll have to see if I can find out how to pull up the service menu too.

If anyone knows how to get in to the service manual on this thing, I'd certainly appreciate the advice. Model number is X32. I looked around briefly but didn't see anything.

                    Re: 32" Spectre -- T-con issue?

So, turns out after trying a tcon and main that the problem was a bad ldvs cable. However, on to my next issue. After watching the TV for a few minutes I went to reconnect the ground cable from the power supply to the Tcon with the screw that goes into the power supply and managed to slip (tv was unplugged of course). Stored charge I suppose and the ground clip his a transitor and let out the magic smoke. Part number JCS2N60F. I only see them in China and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one stateside. Feel like a real dumbass right now.

                    Thanks again,

                    Aaron

It's probably just a standard 2N60 device, they are quite common e.g.

Wonder if I can find one on another board I have lying around. I have no 5VSTBY or anything now. Would that make sense?

That's my 'go to' Blu-Ray for testing TVs. Sometimes testing turns in to watching it on a 50"-60" in the garage from 3' away.

Got the PS repaired on this and it's good to go. Guess I'll be a little more careful with the reassembly next time. Thanks Tom for your help as always.

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...
