Hello to you all .new to the site, but i think its a great one, if there was a rating 1 to 10,give it a 10. Have read a ton of these looking for similar problems with a LG 42LC7D-UB,Board #EAY34797001,found a few that were close, but no cigar. Finely took the back off, and found 5 obvious dreaded "BAD CAPS". No pic. no sound, green flashing longer than it should. cycle it on-off, a few times, and bingo would B good. One of those times heard a pop,like a small firework, but each time would take longer. So now i know i at least need these 5 caps witch are,a 35v-1500uf. and four 10v-2200uf. Looked at the master list on this site and the 35v-1500uf is not there. anyone got any info on that.

You can get the 35V 1500uF capacitor(s) you need from mouser or digikey.

What are the dimensions (width, height) of the capacitor? In millimeters please.

P.S. You really from Amityville? The town with all those haunted houses? :P

Oh, the horror, yeah. I'm not sure on the dimensions,how can u measure?

Use a ruler that has a millimeter scale.

For the width, which is actually the diameter since the capacitor is round, you can put the ruler on top of the capacitor and eye-up the size. Common capacitor diameters are 8, 10, 12, 16 mm.
Some are 12.5 actually, but as long as you get the measurement to within a few millimeters you should be good.

For the height, take something small and skinny, like a toothpick, and put it next to the capacitor. Take note of the length on the toothpick, and then measure the length of that. Common heights are 5, 7, 10, 11.5, 12, 15, 20, 22.5, and 25 mm.

Of course, you should measure the distance from one leg of the capacitor to the other leg. These distances are usually either 3.5mm, 5mm, 7mm, and 10mm.

Thanks for the advice, was about to try your recommendation when i read your message, sorry it takes me so long to respond, i"m a two finger type"r, than it hit me to dig up my calipers.

Also that last part about the leg distances, thanks, but will it be a problem?,. have"t taken them off yet.checked Digikey and not sure on all they ask like tolerance,lifetime temp.,ripple current,ohm"s,ect.

Tolerance: always +/-20%
Lifetime: ignore for now, mostly irrelevant except when comparing two capacitors
Temp: always 105C
Ripple current: ignore for now, mostly irrelevant except when comparing two capacitors
Ohms: (ESR) choose Panasonic FM, FR, or FC and you will be fine.

You were on the money. Have all the measurements so i can now answer your question. They R as follow"s 35v-1500uf W-16mm, H-25mm , Leg Distance 7mm.. All Four 10v-2200uf are W-12.5mm, H-20mm..Leg Distance 5mm.

THANK YOU, NO SINCERELY THANK YOU. I am knew to this site, still trying to figure it all out. I don"t mean to break any rules or piss anyone off, and it"s not just being new to this site, but i"m not to proud to say i"m not a computer savant, witch i would gather you all are already aware of,the reason i say all is because you(tom66) as well as ben7,and topcat i feel without needing conformation ,are savant in this field, and have my respect, and once again i would like to THANK EACH OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND EXPERT TECHNICAL ADVICE if there is a way that you can forward this to them(or-and post it for the masses ) i would appreciate it, and to the masses i say these guy"s are ace"s. On a separate note both you and topcat added the don"t PM me, put on public forum, apology"s to you both, as it is said "the only stupid question,is the one not asked", so that being said to post on public forum that would be the post reply bottom left corner of this window?
