That indicates to me that there is a main board, control board, Y-main/X-main or cabling fault.
The next step requires you to remove the cover of the TV and perform a simple test pattern jumper - see here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...61&postcount=2

You should get a loop of test patterns when the TV is powered on. Note, the user menus, interface etc. won't work, but you should still be able to turn the TV on and off normally.

Leave it powered on like this for some time. Does the screen still go blank?

I'm not sure what that is? You should just turn TV on normally, with remote, as if it were working.

This time I powered on using the remote control - same results, no video at all (total black screen; sound is OK

Please show me how the test pattern jumper was done and which cable you unplugged - Very odd results.
Any light on control board flashing? Once a second or once every 5 to 7 seconds?

I just restored everything - no picture either; perhaps it needs to be powered down longer?

Could it be the two relays on the control board that might cause me the grief (dirty or pitted contacts)?

One of two possibilities, an X-main board fault or the cable between the control board (with the LED and jumper on it) and main board is not fully seated.
I've had an intermittent X-main board on this model before (well, B450, but it's the same panel...)
