RCA 42 inch LCD L42WD22

I have a 42 inch RCA LCD TV. Model L42WD22. It stopped working
When plugged in I get a solid green light. No picture, no sound, no menu using the remote. The green light flickers when I try to use the remote but nothing comes up.

I have read a lot of the posts and was hoping it was a bad capacitor. I don't readily see anything that is wrong. I have taken some photos of the two main boards for anyone to take a look at. I am more than willing to take additional photos if these are not showing what needs to be seen.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Here is a photo of my multimeter. I believe it would be analog.

You would need to get a digital multimeter for TV repair, because an analog meter doesn't have high enough resolution.

OK, set your meter to the "200V DC" range. 200V marked with two horizontal lines, one broken and one solid.

Test the voltages along this connector.

It should be connected.

To test: Black probe from your meter in the COM socket and touching the metal chassis of the TV. Red probe touching each pin of the connector one after another. You will have to test it with the connector plugged in, so a good place to probe is the metal sheath around the wire going into the plastic connector. Note down each reading & report back with results.

Did you check the ccfl inverter(s), should be on the sides of the panel, I bet there are 2 bad caps on each inverter, and possibly bad fets and maybe blown ic. and open fuse. If you are lucky it will be only the caps.

I checked the other places. I think this is where you wanted me to check. I have attached a photo with where I tested and what voltage I got.

Can you check the readings on the pins before, and after, you press the power button to see if there is a change?

Looking at that transformer on the right of the image, near the middle, something looks wrong with it.

Also noticed CapaXon and Samaxon capacitors. If those aren't bad, they will be soon.

Can you check the readings on the pins before, and after, you press the power button to see if there is a change?

They are all at 0.0 when power is off except for the ones that read 4.8. Those are at 4.8 even when power is off.

You have 24volts on the output of the power supply, that should go to the main and slave inverters. they are mounted on the lcd panel on the left and right. under the back cover of the tv

Thanks RJ, I found that thread before I started my own. It didn't seem to provide insight into my issue. I don't get sound. That poster found the issue right away and the rest was about resolving his specific issue. I have not yet been able to identify my specific issue. So short of just changing stuff and hoping it works . . . .
