i have a samsung ps 50c96hd it started swiching its self of after 30mins at first but over time it will not come on and last time it came on it turned its self of after 10 seconds.so it would come on doing the clicking and after 10 seconds go of doing the clicking any idears please.just clicks 2 coming on 2 clicking of and no more clicks.so all in all clicks 2 win you plug the tv in and 2 time click going of with out touching the tv

It could be just bad caps on the power supply.

Common issue with this set is cracked/cold solder joints, see this video for similar fault with different model.

thanks tom come,s on and of ok it was a dry joint.now the tv has a black line runing from top of tv to the bottom any idear what could be wrong with it.thank you all for your help

Top to bottom?

Probably the plasma panel is bad from the repeated power supply on/off. Chance it is just a loose connector though never heard of it on these panels.

its was ok no line when it last came on for 10 seconds. i will look for a loose connector

Just be careful, loose connector on bottom of plasma panel, it must ALWAYS be off when changing those connectors or you have a very high chance of damaging the plasma panel in an unrepairable way.

sorry to jump in, on the psu on this model there are 3 caps 1000 x 25v bottom/centre of board as you look at it in situ, replace them, I am not saying this will cure your fault but i have seen a couple where these caps are gone, whilst you have the back off its worth just popping new ones in (Bulged or not)..the tv is knocking on 6 years +, shes a pensioner in tv years :o)
