    Gold and black sounds like MCZ, MBZ. While low ESR they are not ideal for switching power supply due to their extremely low ESR.

      Gotcha. Been considering buying a pack of each of some of the standard ones I've been encountering in multiple sets but those kits sure are convenient. At this point, I'll be living with what is installed. Hopefully the TV will serve someone well for a good while.

        Usually the problem with MBZ/MCZ is they won't work at all. If they work now, they will probably be OK.
