So I can plug that connector in?

After looking at it up close in my pic, it looks like it may only be one lead damaged, the hole looks like it's right inbetween the other 2.

Also, I'm about to reinstall Y-Sus and new upper buffer board. I replaced the four 88N30W's on Y-Sus, one of which was shorted. I didn't find anything else bad but I didn't go through the whole board..

Is there a way to protect the boards (similar to lightbulb trick) if there is still something wrong or do just gotta throw them in and see what happens?

You need a scope to verify your Y-main is good, there are limited checks you can do with a DMM.
The TV should work apart from one thin horizontal line across the screen, which may or may not be a problem.

Tom may know better, but in my experience, I don't know of a way to "protect" the boards. I would be ready to pull the power cord IMMEDIATELY if you notice anything out of the ordinary.

LOL that pisses me off. Another lesson learned.

Im going to try to repair that lead, any ideas?

I was planning on taking an exacto knife and carefully scraping away the plastic and somehow trying to bridge the connection.

Just a suggestion, your method of repair may differ. If it were me, I would take a piece of wire that would fit in the hole and push it through. I would then probe for continuity between the wire and the pad that connects to that trace at the connector. I would also verify that the wire was not contacting either of the neighboring traces. If no continuity between the neighboring traces was present, I would then tin the wire, stick it back through the hole and hit it quickly with an iron, hoping it would bond to the broken trace and not melt the plastic ribbon at the same time. If the trace was repaired then the wire could be folded over and covered with sealant or glue to keep it from shorting on something. Best of luck to you. I hope you can fix it.

Hmm, that looks like a tough one. You may end up damaging more than that one trace. I guess it doesn't really make a difference at this point. I'd probably border either side of the bad trace with a couple layers of kapton tape before attempting to make repairs. Ideally, you'd want to expose some of the trace on either side of the hole before installing a jumper. I'd probably try a hot air station and a low melting point solder paste on this one then cover the repair with a thin layer of electronic-friendly silicone. It's still a long shot to fix it.

It is up to 400V to ground, with up to 200V (Vscn - Vsc) between each line.

Today must be my lucky day. I should stay up for a few weeks.

This is a small piece of HV wire from an inverter circuit, it's working for now. It was just the one trace that was damaged after all!

Impressive. First time I've seen those successfully repaired; I'd always considered it impossible. I'd add a bit of glue to that, if you haven't?

Well, since it was a single small hole in the ribbon, I wouldn't count on it working too often. Great job by Kevin, though.
