Re: Samsung model PS50A556S2FXXU TAKES LONG TO TURN ON
You may have received defective boards from a TV with the same problem...

Is there any way of testing these boards to know which is causing probs? This seller assured me that all his parts are tested before dispatched, any truth in that?
Thanks

Hi Tom66, is there any way of testing these boards so that you can find out which one is causing problems? This seller assured me that he tests his parts before dispatched, is there any truth in that?
Once again thanks

Little to none.
For a majority of sellers, the test consists of asking the former owner if the TV for parts worked before it was smashed.
But who knows some people are impatient and may try to hit their TV to get it working? And maybe then the screen gets broken.

Thus a good one, yah when you visit some homes you see cracks, fist marks and so forth, you're right there. Anyway I'll see what I can do, and will update you on any progress. Thax 4 your kindness, be blessed.
Re: Samsung model PS50A556S2FXXU TAKES LONG TO TURN ON
This is the reason I do not buy cracked screen TVs. I'm happy to take them if they are given to me, or if they're not too far away but that's all.

Unfortunately there's little you can do without an oscilloscope and digital multimeter.

Re: Samsung model PS50A556S2FXXU TAKES LONG TO TURN ON
Hi all, today I realized that when change boards yesterday, I didn't replace the logic board. Then I tried to change the logic board, the tv comes on for a few seconds with one side of the screen black and the other side shining thus divided on the middle, then it switches itself on and off. I then replace back the original psu, but it does the same thing. Any idea honourable members?
Thanks, your ideas are really appreciated.

Check all cables to new logic board are securely seated.

Yah one socket clip on the logic board is broken. I think when the seller was trying to remove it. This socket connects to the lower buffer. So what I did was to hold it with a tape. May be it could be the one.
So does it mean the probs is the logic board?
Thanx Tom66

If it works, then quite possibly yes.

If you can keep it securely attached that should be fine.

Yes, I've secured it with the same clip and taped it, by sight it looks fine really, but it does the same things, switching itself on and off fast and then screen divides into two black one side and white the other half.
Thanks Tom66 helping on this problem
