I think you have a connection loose on the video board. Check the connections on your circuit boards. If that doesn't work there should be someone here in a bit with a little more experience with this problem.

I would recommend a service reset.
MENU on TV and MENU on remote control (hold both for up to 10 seconds), then select RESET option.

Does that fix this problem? I had a similar and reseated a cable and fixed it. Does the reseat do the same as a reset?

I have no idea. I'm just recommending it.

And unless the TV has a bionic cable-reseating arm, I don't see how anything you do in the service menu will be able to reseat a cable.

I'd be surprised if it was a loose cable, unless this TV has two separate main boards perhaps only one for analog and one for digital like HDMI and DTV, I have seen an older LG LCD which did that. Things like LVDS aren't going to cause this.

HAHA! I guess what I was saying was...can reseating a particular cable reset the tv in some way? I can't recall if I tried a reset on the one I had a few years ago. But the reseat fixed a similar problem to this! Thanks!

I doubt it, there may be a few exceptions.

Can we see an image of the service menu -- it may be buried away.

there is another problem now. it won`t come out of standby. the voltages from psu are okay i think. I measured some voltages on mainboard : VCTI_ST_1.8 , ST-5v , st-3.3v are there. I am not sure this are all the voltages i should have. The rest are generated when turning tv on?

i made some screenshots from the service manual
                    dc-dc converter
i have st_5v so ic1300 is working. ic1301 and ic1101 are 'turned on' after the pwr_onoff_1 signal comes, right? I measured the pwr_onoff_1 signal and it's not coming

                    vcti voltage regulator
i measured vcti_st1-1.8v and st-3.3v , ic2 and ic4007 no voltages at IN pin, the 5v_b is switched by ic1101 (FET). but this fet is not driven i think (only when onoff singal comes)

I think that points to some problem with the main control/processing ic. I would say to get a new mainboard, but tom66 or budm will have a better opinion for sure.

i made a picture of the service menu, maybe someone know where the reset option is. can i conclude the TCON and panel are working ok, because i get a working menu on the screen?

when i heat the mainboard the tv is turning on after pressing on key. i found several smd caps with high esr. could this be related to the faulty picture?

                          What's under NVM Edit?
                          T-con and panel are working.

Have you tried using the arrow buttons or channel up/down buttons to navigate the menu?
