Samsung HPN5039 with vertical black bar issue.

I've read a few threads in this forum regarding this issue and it seems very mixed as to what the problem really is.

The vertical black bar starts about 1/4 of the way from the right side of the TV and goes to half way down the screen. It's about 2" thick.

I've read that this is repairable sometimes via fixing ribbon cables or buffer boards, as well as I've read this is not a repairable issue.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

The attached picture is not the true tv in question, but perfectly depicts the location and length of the bar.

Re: Samsung HPN5039 with vertical black bar issue.

Depending on the design, this can be caused by a number of failures.
Sometimes there are chip resistors on the flex which can crack, leading to the black bar.
Other times the connectors going to the flex can crack.
And sometimes the panel itself can be bad.

You will need to take the cover off and get us pictures so we can guide you as to the location of the fault.

      shepscrook,

Something similar here with a friends HPN 5039 Samsung.

Did you ever dig further into yours? I still have not opened the case, but am wondering if you defined a cause for yours and were you able to effect a repair?

Strange LG TV issue : Image vertical lines in black screen
        by Ancient1
        Hi

        Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

        Thanks !...

Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100 - BIOS Issue, Black Screen
        by wizard13
        Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.

I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
        by vincentedel
        Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

        QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
        by Manucsl
        Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...
