    RCA 42PA30RQ Clicking Relays

ok so i got this TV from a customer of mine when delievering his new couches
im some what savy as far as electronics go but this is my first REPAIR on a LCD tv

I ordered a new power supply from Shopjimmy.com

Didnt fix the problem. when i disconnect the X-Y main board it doesnt continuously click like it will when its all hooked up , and i have no backlighting no picture , havnt hooked it up to anything yet as far as computer to see if im getting sound or not ,

reply to this thread if u think u might beable to help me out here id really love to have this TV fixed for under 100 $ total would be a nice gift for my wife since all we currently have is a 32" vizio which is a great TV set i must admit 3 + years now of constant use and no issues ever !

    Re: RCA 42PA30RQ Clicking Relays

Well, a good start would be to note this is a plasma, not an LCD. It does not use a backlight.

If it stops clicking when X-main disconnected, the X-main is bad and should be replaced.
If it stops clicking when Y-main disconnected, the Y-main is bad and should be replaced.

its the setup were the X board is driven with power from Y board , i looked at several of ur trouble shooting tips i tested buffers for shorts with my Analog meter and the ohm resistance was the same on all pins from Y board pins to buffer board , im stumped atm with why its shorting out i read the entire thread with u and Bling

i appreciate any more help u have for me as im 50 $ into this set already and want to keep costs under 100 $ if at all possible

when the main power for Y board is diconnected it doesnt click like it does with it connected , ive tested alot of the little blue caps for ohms i believe its a "Good" reading , but like i said im kinda a newbie at this , im great with building computers and software , hardware troubleshooting is new to me entirely

Cant test caps effectively with old-fashioned analoge meter. You need an ESR meter for caps or substitution.

So--dis the X board from the Y and try again--Does it still trip (click)?

You will need to remove the Y-buffer completely to test it.

Diagnosis indicates fault is on YSUS.

That analogue meter is Not suitable for testing caps nor is it accurate enough to set the rail voltages in Plasma sets.

Does your meter have an audible continuity mode?

If not, you will need to set it to 200 ohm and run it slowly along each pin (one per second) checking for any reading other than the normal "1".

If it does have the audible mode, you can use that to hear a beep when a short is encountered, which allows you to more easily find a fault.

O and I checked the old power supply the tv had same thing only got the 1 set of click to turn on so I'm going to send back the other 55$ power supply gotta pay a 20% restock fee but if I can just use the rest of the money to buy what I actually need I think ill still win , and I also read ur post about plasmas and how they work is it easy to spot cracks ?

You pull on them. Sometimes the Y-board has to come out.

Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

                                          I have a UN60D8000YF with a BN44-0432A power supply and a BN41-01622C main board.
The set was working then not, then started clicking.
Wilth the power supply disconnected from the main board I can occasionally get it to power the LED back lights , getting it to stop clicking is luck.
Checked caps and diodes and mosfets the best I could. When it stop clicking there is 5v and 18v on the connector to the main board.
A schematic or suggestion would be great.
                                          Thanks

                                          Hello,
As a foreword I'm relatively novice with component level audio gear repair. My amplifier stopped producing sound and I currently have no funds to buy a new one so I need any help to repair it. I know "no sound" is one of the most common problem but there were other symptoms so some of you seasoned repairman might able to pinpoint the stuff I have to check. I did download the service manual from manualslib the "no sound checklist" is a bit intimidating.

So i bought it working. First symptom: speaker protection relays on the audio board were clicking...
