SAMSUNG plasma PS42Q91HD turn off issue

I got samsung plasma to be salvage here from a friend. when i powered it on, it goes on for 20 mins or so then it just shut off and clicking with 30 seconds apart until I unplugged it from power point. The remote does not work when the issue happened.

I opened up the back of the tv and looked at possible bad caps symptoms but no luck. All caps look good, no leaking, no bulge, no burnt mark, no mark at all. I suspected couples of 1000uF 35v, which measured at 1600+uF on circuit but when I pulled these out. it just measured correctly around 980uF.

Anyone can gimme any idea how to proceed with troubleshooting?

You'll get more help if you take some good clear photos of the whole back of the TV and closeups of the boards.

I've had a 50" which would randomly shutdown after it warmed up and ended up being bad solder joints on the FETS on the long slim heatsink in the middle from memory.

It's a very common issue and easily fixed.

Yes, locate the transistors along that long heatsink and re-solder all of the joints on each of the transistors.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
                by vincentedel
                Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
                by Manucsl
                Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...

                Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
                by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
                by ScHAmPi
                Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
