Hey guys, I bought a TV from a guy that said his Philips TV had no more picture. He stated one day a few weeks ago he turned his TV on and it failed to show a picture, but he can hear the sound. I bought the TV from him today, I came home pluged it in, turned it on and what do you know, the TV turns on, the backlights are on and I can see the picture and hear sound. Only problem is that I can see a very slight flicker of the picture especially noticeable on white image. I proceeded to inspect the inverter boards and they look absolutely fine. These inverter boards however are not the OE inverters. They must be compatible replacements as they do not align to the screw holes of frame. What do you guys think?

Check the inverters for signs of bad capacitors. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: 42pfl7422d/37 very slight flickering of image
Hey Tom thanks for helping me out, I checked inverters and everything looks good. I checked those caps while TV is on and I get 24v on all of them. Where else can I go from here? I also want to say that it's really not a flicker, but a bunch of thin transparent lines cascading down from the top of the TV and it's really not a problem unless the image is white or a light color.Comment

First video is of the actual problem on the picture.

2nd video is of me checking the voltages on the mosfets upon first power up. I get a Low voltage reading on the master inverter as you can see.

3rd video is of me checking the voltages again after turning tv off and back on. On second voltage check the voltages are not low like the first test.

Re: 42pfl7422d/37 very slight flickering of image
Guys I have replaced all caps, voltage regulators, and IC's and I managed to make the lines go away, but the flickering is still there. I know the problem is with the inverters because I swapped inverters from another Philips tv and the flickering was not there any more. What else can I do?Comment

by cjardHi all
Wondering if I could get some insight on a Dell U27HM. First turned it on and the image was completely black. I later realised that if I dragged a window from one monitor to (the broken) other one then smeared colors would appear on the bottom 75% of the screen. After being on for several hours the top part of the screen started flickering showing an image (I have a video of this) and then suddenly the image appeared albeit rather fuzzy in the bottom 75% - image attached - and some hour later it now appears normal
I do have two of these monitors so a compare/swap...-

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by TrueSword88Hi All
I have a KOGAN 58' LCD Panel that 'flickers / pulsates' when in energy saving mode.
I've reset the unit to factory default & rerun the initial setup but no change.
IF I choose any other mode, example: Standard, flickering disappears.
I've downloaded the most recent FW for this model from Kogan's website & re-flashed. This initiated a full wipe of the unit, which subsequently led to the setup all over again, however, the issue still remained - screen flickering but only when in 'energy saving' mode.
I've taken the unit apart,... - Loading...
