Samsung LCD LN46A530P too bright

A friend knows I do this as a hobby and is offering to sell me this as a project. After searching online, and here in the forums, (I only get references to brightness problems with respect to dimness or 1/2 screen) I need to ask.

Why is this thing so bright? Apparently it can't be adjusted at all? is it tcon or control? Is it worth it to me to give him $50 for it?

It has Gamma problem due to bad b+ on the T-CON board.
See if you have the same AS15 IC on the T-CON board.

Thanks for the quick response. I will probably take it off his hands as those boards are around $40 - $100 delivered and need something to do anyways.
