Re: LG 60PB6650 plasma flashes gray, then nothing
I have the same TV with the same symptoms, however, the surface mount cap that is blown is on the lower buffer board, C975. Did you ever find the value of these caps or a service manual? Did you try your replacement buffer with the old y-sus?
What I'm getting at is can I replace the buffer and skip the y-sus...

Re: Sony CECH-ZED1U Playstation 3D LED TV - Two Red Flash
I had two red flash of death also. I lifted pin 3 as shown in photos and TV has been working since.
I get a blank screen for 1 second every once in a while.
I get RFOD sometime powering on, but disconnecting AC for a minute and it starts up again.
I've ordered a new chip, since I know this fix can't possibly be permanent, but I'm happy I can use my TV until it arrives.
cheers...

Re: SONY KDL-46EX710 no error code failure
just read this in the training manual, this may just be it.
No Backlight, No Shutdown
It is possible for a symptom of no backlighting to occur that does not
cause the television to go into protective shutdown. Dynamic dimming
control of the backlights is performed by monitoring information from the
TCON board. This is in the form of data and determines the brightness
level of the backlights based on video content.
If the TCON fails to process the RGB video data, or if the dimmer data...

Re: SONY KDL-46EX710 no error code failure
yes, those values are readings taken after the tv has done the power cycle twice and is stuck with no picture but green power light.
if you want readings when its running normal I'll do them next once the tv has been off awhile it will stay on for ten minutes before failure

SONY KDL-46EX710 no error code failure
I've searched the forums and found others with this model that have a 7 times blinking red error.
This set does not do that.
Power on cold, set works great for a time then it power cycles off then on (green light off then on). Works for a minute or two then power cycles again, however green led stays lit and no picture or sound comes back.
No error codes, power button still cycles relay on/off but no backlight or sony boot screen etc.
when checking -out1 -out2 and +out1 and +out2 (to ground) i get
before failure (power...

Re: samsung on off issue
The Black box is a relay and i think it would depend on the degree of "meltage". I would try replacing the first two and if the relay is too warped to function properly then replace it as well.
I just "rescued" one of these tv's from an electronics recycling bin and after resoldering the cold solder points on the board it came back to life and is working fine again. Good luck with yours...

Re: Lg 37 lc2db
I have this set on my workbench right now. Bought the cap replacement kit and did them all. friend said it worked for 15 hours and will not work anymore. powers on, green light, no sound or picture. all output voltages on the PS are good except for the ones labelled 6.6V, they are only outputting 0.5v
should i just change the board or you guys know any tricks lol

Re: LG 60PV450-UA zsus?
Thanks for replying. I unplugged the zsus as you said and the tv does power up, I have static sound but no picture at all. Plug it back in, goes back to no sound no picture, and relays clicking a few times as before

Re: LG 60PV450-UA zsus?
More photos. And the zsus fuse did not blow again when i turned it back on. The two screen photos are from before i replaced the fuse and resoldered. still have no image at all...Last edited by notsogentle; 06-16-2014, 11:03 AM.

LG 60PV450-UA zsus?
Got one of these given to me, it is only 3 years old. Came on but very dim and washed out colors. Opened it up, checked all fuses and the zsus fuse was blown. Also there are 3 copper coils that had lost their solder connections to the board.
Replaced the fuse, re-soldered the coils and bam. now the tv wont power on at all. It cycles on, relays click, red led fades out, more clicking, then stays red
Should i just order another zsus? they are about $60 and that would be a great price for this otherwise MINT plasma tv.
Thanks in advance, I'm posting an image...Last edited by notsogentle; 06-16-2014, 11:01 AM.

Hi folks! I got this today, and it powers on, but no proper picture. I have no inputs attached. Starts out blue but very quickly fades across the screen black then blue again. bad panel? or is it simple like t-con or mainboard problem?
hopefully photos post in order, it happens pretty quick....

Re: Samsung LCD LN46A530P too bright
Thanks for the quick response. I will probably take it off his hands as those boards are around $40 - $100 delivered and need something to do anyways.

Samsung LCD LN46A530P too bright
A friend knows I do this as a hobby and is offering to sell me this as a project. After searching online, and here in the forums, (I only get references to brightness problems with respect to dimness or 1/2 screen) I need to ask.
Why is this thing so bright? Apparently it can't be adjusted at all? is it tcon or control? Is it worth it to me to give him $50 for it?
Here is a pic he took of the unit.
Thanks again...

Re: Toshiba Plasma, LG Panel, dim picture
Thanks again, I found an LG tv with a bad ysus, pulled the zsus out of it and installed it. Works great now, I had to adjust voltages on ysus to get rid of some sparklies but there are still some there. The p/n was same but rev # different by 1 digit. I don't expect it to last forever but at least it works now.
