    Very quick LG Plasma question

    Hi all,

My first post here and I just have a very very quick question.

Is it normal for an 2 year old LG 50" plasma to take 20 secs to switch on?
I've read on one forum that it is normal for any plasma to be about 20-30sec.

Main reason im asking is that it had the usual clicking issue where it wouldnt power up. So I replaced the resistor, voltage reg & diode and I finally got the picture back Previously it took about 4secs to come on now since the repair its 15-20sec.

Any reason for this? or anything I could have done??

(I know I should just be happy it switches on at all haha, just curious)

    Thanks in advance!

Could be cap issue. See if heating up caps with hairdryer makes set turn on quicker. Most LG I have seen boot in under 5 seconds.

      thanks for your quick reply!

Im guessing you just mean heating up all the caps on the powerboard yeah?

It may not be an issue then. I would wait and see if it gets worse.

All the caps visually look ok so will just leave it and see how it goes.
              thanks for the replies

                Hi,
Have a Macbook A2179 with liquid damage. Customer showed it some shop which has done an ultrasonic cleaning of the board.
The board pulls 0V but doesnt turn on. No Fan SPIN. NOT IN DFU.

I checked the Power Sequences below and found this -

Once a valid external power source (Charger or battery) is connected, the following rails will come online.
PPBUS_G3H: Normal voltage is ~12.6v on the charger with the battery disconnected. Produced from the ISL9240 (U7000, which uses PPDCIN_G3H as its VIN.

                FAST MODE vs NORMAL MODE

I have recently acquired a HP 6632A DC power supply. I am just beginning to use it and I have been reading the manuals for it. It is the first power supply I have ever owned or used. I am a very beginner hobbyist and do not have an engineering background, as may be obvious by my question...

I can't seem to understand what the actual use is for the 'Fast Mode' or the 'Normal Mode' on the power supply. Although the manual states what the two modes do from a engineering/technical standpoint, I don't know enough to understand what it all means,...

with the tv unplugged and not in use:
if a plasma screen has a yellowish patch or tinge
is this a sign that the panel is gassed
                or worn?
                its hard to photograph
but in daylight instead of being a uniform black,
it looks yellowish in the corner ,theres no sign of cabinet damage.

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
                by BMCappelletti
                Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...
