Samsung PN 58B550T2F/T5F - LOOKIN GOOD

    HEY TOM AND DRJP,

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP ON THE Samsung. HERE IS THE UPDATE. REPLACED THE MAIN X BOARD AND FIRED IT UP. PICTURE CAME ON... AWESOME!. HAD SOME CLARITY ISSUES, SO i ADJUSTED THE vs/va UP TO MATCH OUTPUT REQUIREMENTS. PICTURE STILL SEAMS A LITTLE PASTIE, BUT THE MENU LOOKS SHARP, SO I GUESS VIDEO INPUT OR MAYBE THE GAIN IS LOW??? ANY WAY ... WE HAVE LIFTOFF... THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND SHARING OF EXPERIENCE.

    SINCERELY,

    ROB

There is usually a Ve adjustment on the X-main. Make sure this is set to the specification. If this still doesn't affect it, alter the Yrr/Yfr voltages.

        Thanks Guys,

The x board has a Vb but no Ve. I found the YFR and The YRR but I do not see any test points near the pots. I also do not have the voltages for those, maybe they are in the owners manual, but I do not think so?

Any Ideas on check points or voltage specs? If not, no worries... you have been awesome in your help.

        Thanks,

        Rob

First can I see a picture of the picture problem you are having?
There are lots of different forms of maldischarge with plasma panels, identifying which is important to know what to adjust.

I got it wrong, Yrr/Yfr are not voltages, they are timings. Determine how long the initialisation ramps (positive and negative) are. Ideally, they are adjusted using an oscilloscope. Without an oscilloscope, adjustment is usually done by looking at the plasma panel while adjusting the pots for perfection.

            Thanks Tom,

I think if i took a picture you would say... and what is wrong with that picture... and I would say... well... really nothing... just a little pastie and on cartoony type of pictures you can see the shifting ... kind of... almost a little blurry. I can try adjusting the YFR and YRR while watching to see if it helps. I may be expecting to much though.... the menu screen is sharp and clear.

If you think I am being to critical... just let me know. I am happy to have the unit working... Yeah... and thanks.

                Good deal... Tom,

The picture is more like the bottom right, but is not so washed out, but not as sharp as the upper left. I tried to adjust out with sharpness or contrast, but does not seam to effect as needed. The picture really is pretty good. Just hate to get it to a good spot, when it could be great. The really great part... was being able to fix it with your help... so cool... I wonder if teams of Doctors feel this way when they save a life... I know... not close... but still neat as it gets.
