Philips Model 42PFL5432/37 Won't Turn On

First of all, I am new and trying to find my way around this site, so bear with me. My wife and I were watching television last night and the 42" flat screen TV model number 42PFL5432/37 Philips, just went black. The power button went to red (sleep mode). I have used the remote to turn it off and on and even manual operation has no effect. Does anyone have any clues.
I am retired and quite handy with all other things, I have lots of tools but have never ventured into television repair. Being on a fixed income today has it's own set of circumstances as many of you are aware. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for the assistance. Jay

you should open it up and post clear pictures of the boards. I would first start checking the fuses.

It's possible it's related to this problem (same model!):
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25256

Their TV will not turn on at all, has three bad caps. All four main caps should be replaced, as we have previously seen them all fail on this model of PSU. For some reason Philips used rubbish CapXon capacitors. I have replaced more CapXon then any other capacitor make, over 35 capacitors at last count.
