When the panel is out (be super, super careful with it) you can power the TV on as normal. You take the panel out from the front of the TV, not the rear.

thanks tom.. i had checked the inverter boards a little,,all readings were 10.01-10.05 on the fet , but im not gona ruel the inverter boards out yet !! it`s either that or the two bulbs that has black/smokey area on them.
i saw them inverter boards around 40-50 bucks . i will tear into it here in a few and get down to the bulbs,,,being new at the lcd's i'm trying to be careful n going slow.

was just geting ready to take the screen off to get to the bulbs and decided to power it on real qiuck, i saw on the screen in a blue box was do3-1 is this a error code or saying where the prolbem is ?? any help out there??

Don't know how about a picture? Never heard of error code appearing on LCD...

it still shuts down right after powering on,,,,screen black the box is blue ,,,,i couldn`t find any answers on the net,,,,,so i guess i will keep going

i was almost going to wait and replace the inverters first,,,but after seeing the two bulbs that had burnt spots on them,,,thinking thats where the prolbem is.

it s tore down to the bulds there is 1 bulb 4 sure blown ,,,,if the bulb was taken out would it work ?? as in staying lit up instead of just lighting up for a split second

got to charge the battery in the camera ,,i will put a pictures up in half hr
should i check the board that the bulbs plug into?

You need to fire up the screen to find the faulty bulb.

yes i fired the screen up there is two bulbs that are bad. the screen shuts down right after it starts up. if i remove the two bulbs will the screen fire up? or do the bulbs have to be in ?

It'll detect any faulty or missing bulb, you'll need to replace them.

well there looked to be 2 bulds not working,,, and there was another that had the burnt look to it so i took it out also!! i did break 1 of those plastic taps that hold the bulb in place,,then i figured out how to take them out,,,,lol !! also i stoped at raido shack,,they have these (mini wire clips) the bulb will fit in it pretty good ! i did find bulbs at a place called rescue parts. i guess now its a waiting game for the parts to come in! i hope this is the fix for the tv!!

Just don't chip or break the LCD glass in any way, or you can say goodbye to it!!!! I learnt this lesson the hard way!

i got everything over to the side till the bulbs come in (1-2 wks) yea i hope that dont happen,,but i would only be out 15 bucks,,,,,lol i will keep ya posted on this project !!

7 bulbs with shipping was 35 bucks that way i have a few extra bulbs !!
