    Samsung LNT375HA possible purchase

I could pick up this TV, but not sure what could be the problem, technician stated that the mainboard has to be replaced.
It has that white vertical band also.
    Any help would be appreciated.

That looks like bad T-CON not getting the power to it. How much is this? less than $50?

Initially he asked $100 and right now he offers it for me for $65 and he is waiting for my answer. I'm thinking about $50. He doesn't have a job, so I fill for him(two years ago I was there myself).
Thank you budm. Did you read what happened with the LG TV with blowing fuses? I blew the FETs again.

Yes, I saw that, you really need to use the lamp setup. I need more thinking to do on that one.

Could you please look at that picture where I draw a red line? I had that continuity even now with the new IC and new FET transistors. It is that normal?

Found a blown chip on the T-con board. Ordered another one from Ebay.

              Re: Samsung LNT375HA possible purchase

Got the T-con board and there is an issue and I believe that it's a bad board.
If I connect all four ribbon cables from the panel, the TV won't power up, it will power cycle.
I have found out that if I remove the far right ribbon cable(looking from the back) it will power up and there is a half image on the screen.
Something else I'm missing here or the board from Ebay it's bad?
On the old board there was a blown chip, it could have maybe damaged something on the panel's PCB?

That is the gamma reference IC, if it went wrong the panel might be bad.

Do you think that it's safe-if even possible to install-the two good ribbon cables into the bad side to see if it will work?

                      It's not working that way.
Do you really think that the panel is bad, or maybe some other component went out on the panel's PCB?
It's not likely that the T-con is bad?

All four ribbon cables should be the same, look at the number of pins of the connectors on the board, they should all be the same. There are also ICs (small rectangular chips about 0.20"W x 3/4" L) on the tab bonding that interface with the output of the T-CON to drive the TFT rows and columns that may have shorted out.

So that's why it didn't start the TV when I used the two good outputs from the T-con on the bad side of the display because the problem is futher up at the display and that issue sends a feedback, that is something wrong and the TV won't turn on because of it. So this confirms that the problem is not the T-con.
So you are saying the same thing as Tom, bad display? It can't be something on that thin PCB on top of the panel?

I have connected the two right outputs of the T-con to the two left ribbons of the panel and it had a black background with some vertical lines every couple of inches.
It should not have an image there also if the T-con board is good?

Bud, I will have to do some hack job on this TV as you did with a different panel on your 32" TV.
Which panel would be a good candidate in your opinion? There are several 37" Vizios on Ebay very cheap, but not sure what to look for.

It has to be the same maker of the panel. The T-CON will have to use the same IC for the processor, and uses the same power supply voltage. You also have to be able to transfer the old inverter board to the new panel. Are you sure you will want to do that?

I would give it a try, but not sure where and when I will find all the right parts.
Course it's not the first thing to do in my mind, I have other TVs waiting to be repaired first. Maybe when the TV repair season it's getting slow.
For now I will look for other brands that are using the same panel, maybe I get lucky and find the right TV. The Ebay seller will take back the T-con board, so the loss it's at minimum.
