Yeah, gumtree is handy, here in Ireland we have Adverts.ie, but seems that a lot of people are on the look out for a cheap eay fix set, not always the case, and agree with your point about Tom, very helpful fella and full of info.

i seem to find a few cheap sets on my local gumtree sites there was 2 in my area yesterday a 36in sanyo stuck in standby and a 32 lg stuck in standby both £30.00 each just didnt have the cash for them as i am saving for a esr meter of rusmike at the minute as he has given me a very good price shipped for one. Hope these 2 for you tom66are a nice easy fix and for a newbie like me at reparing these i like the way you go into detail on your fault finding and your findings.Leave a comment:

Another eBay find... picking it up tomorrow. (£40.00)
Fault is no power, might be stuck in standby (seller is unclear.) It's a 720p set. Another Swindon TV I need to collect, but will have a 32" Grundig (probably Vestel) to pick up on the same journey from Thatcham.
I've discovered that there are quite a few LCD/Plasma TVs on low buy it now prices on eBay. So search only for buy-it-now auctions, you can sometimes find a good bargain.
Might be a Vestel using 17PW16 PSU, which is a bit more expensive...

Hitachi 32HAE2351 Vestel 17MB171 - Rotate Image
Mainboard: VESTEL 17MB171 Chassis: VES315WNGB - 2D - N52
The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
The image result was good, but the image is inverted.
The image rotation/mirror function doesn't exist in the Menu Server. I can't correct the image.
Do you have the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 - Vestel 17MB171 motherboard or a solution to rotate the image in... -
Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing... -
Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.
Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. The mainboard is Vestel 17MB180E, and my panel is VES650QNTX-N2-N42.
The board I received is flashed for VES650QNDB_N41 and shows double “No signal”.
I need the correct USB update package (upgrade_mb180.zip / upgrade.bin) for:
- Toshiba 65UL2163DG
- Vestel 17MB180E mainboard
- Panel VES650QNTX-N2-N42
- Version V1.28.100.0 if available

Hello, board 17MB140TC, I need to change the remote control in Vestel tool box 1.1. The original is there
Rc48xx_2D and I want to install TOSHIBA-Rc481xx, but the program says that a maximum of 9 characters can be entered. I only entered Rc481xx and the program does not accept the driver I have in the original. Does anyone know how to do this? Other Vestel codes work.
