I suspect it needs a new LCD panel, which makes it uneconomical to repair unless you can find a cheap LCD panel.

Was LCD impacted at all? Or did it just "pop" while you were watching it?

i was wondering, is there a way to quickly test an lcd tv using any other lcd panel ?

if both are lvds and use the same connection.. it'd be handy to have any lcd panel to at least, be able to check if the output of the boards is OK or not..

i wonder, if the lcd controller would output to any lcd even if it's not the same model or resolution...

Thanks Tom..Seem like a lot guys faced the same problem with samsung tv's. Called Samsung and they rejected to do any free work . its all money ..I will not buy samsung again ..

I have a sony trv22 camcorder bought in 2003, and it developed the lines issue in the lcd after 4 years ...Sony admitted the problem as a known issue ,fixed after 4 years free of cost ..

Hopefully Samsung will learn poor customer service = less customers.

However people keep buying Samsung TVs for some reason. Then again it's hard to get anything decent nowadays with lower end Toshiba, Sanyo, Sharp, and Hitachi being the same crappy Vestel TV with an expensive badge. Newer small Sony TVs aren't made by Sony any more and Panasonic's new 42/50 inch plasma TV is full of crappy caps.

Toshiba had a similar LCD issue - dark spots/patches on screen after 3-4 years. They replaced every single TV with the problem free of charge, even though they were well out of warranty. Good guy Toshiba. Dunno about them nowadays - that was when the stuff was made in the UK! The root cause was the LG display panels in the TVs... but did LG replace customer's TVs? Nope!

This would probably work you'd need both TVs powered up somehow - one with minimum of backlight, the other with main/etc running.

More than likely you'll see garbage if the screen resolutions are different. With different models typically only the colours will be messed up.

Re: Samsung 46" LED TV UN46B6000VFXZA

                Hello,

If anyone else is experiencing this same issue. Please feel free to contact me, as I am planning to gather as many customers information as possible that have experienced this same problem, in order to start a class action lawsuit concerning Samsung's selling of merchandise with knowledge of design flaws and planned obsolescence. Feel free to reach out to me at jcordi42@gmail.com.

I purchased this same Model Television in 2010 for $3300 from Best Buy, purchased the 5 year warranty, and the week after those 5 years were up from originally being registered on their website, this issue occurred completely out of nowhere.

The only fix is to purchase and entirely new replacement part (LTS460HF08) which they no longer carry and which cannot be found through other means.

Do not hesitate, please reach out with any questions or concerns, as I have ceased purchasing anything else from Samsung, have recommended the same from family, friends, followers, coworkers, social media outlets, and hopefully as soon as we can get enough names to begin this class action lawsuit, the mainstream media.

                Thank you,

                Concerned Consumer.
